More than R$ 700 million will be transferred by the Ministry of Citizenship by the end of the month for Social Assistance. The announcement was made during a meeting with state and municipal secretaries in Brasília, this Wednesday (13). R$ 200 million will fall into municipal accounts next week. Furthermore, the decontingency made by the Ministry of Economy, after the pre-salt auction, guarantees around R$ 500 million for the payment of services from the Unified Social Assistance System (Suas).
The Healthy Life Program is a partnership between two actions of the Ministry of Citizenship aimed at elderly people: the Elderly Friendly Brazil Strategy (Ebapi), linked to the Special Secretariat for Social Development, and the Healthy Life Program, of the Special Secretariat for Sport. With this union, municipalities that are already part of the Social Development department's initiative will be able to receive kits to promote the practice of physical exercise and leisure for the elderly, increasing their quality of life, expanding the socialization process and helping to recover their health. health. An unprecedented survey, carried out by the Mapa das Organizações da Sociedade Civil (OSCs) team, from Ipea, showed that of the total of 820 thousand organizations active in Brazil today, only 22 thousand (2.7%) received some type of financial resources from the federal government between 2010 and 2018. The amount received in the period corresponds to R$ 118.5 billion, that is, just 0.5% of the total foreseen annually in the General Budget of the Union (R$ 25 trillion).
