Suspension of parliamentary activities of the National Congress. If there is no call for Extraordinary Legislative Session, the recess occurs from the 18th to the 31st of July and from the 23rd of December to the 1st of February. For the July recess to take place, Congress must approve the Project in Budget Guidelines Law (LDO). With the aim of safeguarding the prerogatives of the Legislature, during the recess period the Commission Representative, which is granted some powers, such as approving additional credits requested by the government and monitoring the actions of the Executive.
