It concerns the identity of institutes in the world of Law. From the verification of the elements that compose it and that differentiate it from other institutes that exist, its existence is established with consequences in the legal world, guaranteeing rights and powers, on the one hand, and establishing obligations.

With regard to the CSO Map, there are four legal types, all with specific entries in this glossary: Foundation toilet, Private Association, Religious Organization and social organization (OS), the latter being, in fact, a title that legal entities can receive, if certain requirements are met.

This classification criterion covers private foundations and associations, as already used in the Fasfil/IBGE survey, and also includes Social Organizations present in the Table of Legal Nature 2014.
