Examples of Brazilian public companies are: Caixa Econômica Federal (CEF), National Bank for Economic and Social Development (BNDES), Federal Data Processing Service (Serpro), Brazilian Post and Telegraph Company (or Correios) and Empresa Brasil de Communication (EBC).
The Mixed Economy Company is a legal entity governed by private law, constituted by public and private capital. The share of public capital must be greater, as the majority of shares must be under the control of the Public Power. It can only be incorporated in the form of a limited liability company. Banco do Brasil, Petrobras, and Banco do Nordeste are examples of Brazilian Mixed Economy Companies.
