31 million for Culture in São Paulo

The Department of Culture and Creative Economy of the State of São Paulo is open for applications for projects that include the São Paulo audiovisual sector. O Program Proac Expresso Direto 2021 promotion scheme, which this year replaces Proac ICMS and maintains the same investment value of R$ 100 million, has two possibilities: by Notice 39, direct support for professionals in the cultural and creative sector aimed at artists, artist educators, cultural technicians, producers and cultural managers, with a total value of R$ 17 million and prizes of R$ 5 thousand; and by Notice 40, for direct promotion of cultural and creative spaces, including cinemas and independent audiovisual spaces, with a total value of R$ 14 million and prizes of R$ 150 thousand or R$ 50 thousand. Notices

Along with ProAC Expresso Editais 2021 and Juntos pela Cultura, ProAC Expresso Direto is part of the package of development programs launched by the Government of São Paulo, with a record investment of R$ 200 million that will benefit around 9,340 thousand projects by artists, producers cultural and city halls. This value represents an increase of 13% compared to last year's release of R$ 177.2 million. The objective is to stimulate the resumption of cultural and creative activities, strongly impacted by the crisis generated by the coronavirus pandemic, and encourage the generation of income, employment and development. The Secretariat estimates it will generate 138 thousand jobs and an economic impact of R$ 300 million.
